August 18, 2009 (after talking w/ Gregg on initial arrival)
It is pretty primative there compared to the last deployment. He says there are 8 bunkbeds to a room which means 16 guys in total. Right now everyone is not there, but all that means is that they can use the top for storage. There aren't any places to put their stuff so it stays in their bags under their beds. There is some type of climate control in the room to sleep. To shower they get wet, turn the water off, lather up, then turn the water on to rinse. The water is brought in to the base. He said the food was o.k. He doesn't have an office or place to do his work at this point, but hopefully in a month or sooner. The medical doesn't either. He does he shooting (forgot the word he used) going off throughout the day. Thankfully they are on the base with a lot of protection. (& prayer)
