February is one of our big months.
Our anniversary, Valentines Day and my birthday are about a week a
part. So far in our married life Gregg has been gone for 3 Februaries out of 4. Even though he was gone again this year sometimes the small things mean more than the big ones. The ship had communications down a few days before my birthday and Gregg wasn't able to call or email out. Somehow he found someone (higher up the chain)who could send an email. He wrote me a long letter and had this guy send it. It really made my day to just hear/read his words to me. Gregg had also sent me flowers for our anniversary! Tulips -- my favorite.Like I have said before there are perks to deployment which means visitors.
Mom and Dad visited in January and into February. There is nothing like Mom & Dad/Grammy & Grandpa. Having them here was great for me and Ethan. Ethan starting saying momma when they were here and even was calling them momma.

Cheryl visited over my bday weekend which was a wonderful treat. She even brought me Don Pedro's bea
ns & tortillas in her suitcase!!!! Now that is a true friend. We had many long talks into the night, watched movies and even explored some of San Diego. We found the Cabrillo Monument which overlooks the beautiful ocean and bay area. Yay for friends who like to drive around and "see what is there" and who also don't mind just sitting around the house...Ethan Update
Ethan has moved from just talking about birds and trucks to now cars and choochoos. He will just babble to me like we are having a conversation. I think "we are" in his mind. Sometimes it gets quiet and I wonder what is he doing... I peak into his room and find him sitting in the rocker or on the floor "reading" a book. He is just like his Daddy.
